Jenny Chaplin Art
About Jenny
I started painting in my early thirties when a friend convinced me to take classes with her. While initially quite hesitant, I soon learned to love it and have been painting even since. I’ve done several classes over the years and have learned a lot on my own through reading and watching instructional videos.

I love to paint flowers, which reflects my love of gardening. Their beauty and colors never cease to amaze me. I am drawn to bright colors and flowers certainly exhibit these – the more intense the colors, the better.

I’m also inspired by architecture and love to paint interesting buildings, or aspects thereof. I have a particular penchant for doors and windows and am always on the lookout for colorful and interesting doors when I travel. It’s become somewhat of a family joke.
My medium is acrylic and I enjoy the way that the paint moves and can be applied to canvas. It is also forgiving for the many times that I need to make changes. Painting has become a great form of stress relief from my day job and I spend most weekends at my easel.
