Meet Chris Chaplin

Chris Chaplin is a Diplomate Certified CranioSacral therapist through the Upledger Institute, a certified massage practitioner through the California Massage Therapy Council and a Usui and Karuna Reiki Master Teacher and practitioner.​

Originally from South Africa, Chris moved from the corporate arena into doing what he loves most, which is supporting clients as they work towards being balanced in all aspects of their lives. Chris started this journey whilst still working in the corporate world by volunteering for Lifeline (South Africa) and the Crisis Center in Iowa City.​

Chris undertook a spiritual journey to a magical part of the world in Teotihuacan, Mexico and soon started to co-lead further spiritual journeys there as well. In 2010, Chris took Reiki 1 and immediately started a Reiki practice. Later in the same year he took Reiki 2 and the following year he became a Reiki Master. Chris not only practices Reiki but teaches Reiki 1, 2 ​and the Master levels for both Usui and Karuna Reiki.

In 2012 Chris became a Certified Massage Practitioner after completing his studies. When it comes to massage, Chris prefers to give therapeutic massages as he believes that it helps relieve many physical ailments. He also does Swedish massages as well as they help one to relax.

In 2014, Chris added CranioSacral Therapy to his toolbox. In 2017, he gained his Techniques Certification and in 2019 he gained the Diplomate Certification from the Upledger Institute. He is an advanced level therapist who has taken CranioSacral 1 and 2, SomatoEmotional Release 1 and 2, Advanced 1 and 2, Developing Deeper CranioSacral Presence, The Brain Speaks, SERTIP and CST and Working with Chronic Depletion through the Upledger Institute.​

Chris works as a primary and support therapist on a regular basis at the Comprehensive Therapy Program that the Upledger Institute offers at Integrative Intentions in Truth or Consequences New Mexico.​

Session Approach

Each session is tailored to your needs, combining techniques for deep relaxation and balance.

The basis for change comes from within each of us.

For CranioSacral therapy, I believe in listening with my hands, closely to what your body is trying to tell me and facilitating the session from there.

Listening neutrally in mind, thought and energy. Then using the least amount of influence to help you, the client and your inner wisdom to change and to reclaim your health and to empower you. Please contact me if you have any questions or wish to begin your healing journey.

For Reiki therapy, I believe in feeling the energy patterns over the entire body and allowing Reiki to flow through my hands to you. The energy will help shift what needs to be shifted, replenishes energy where it is needed and helps bring the body back into balance.

For Massage therapy, I feel the tissues of your body and apply a gentle pressure in the massage strokes and gently go deeper until those muscles have released. Lengthening and stretching the muscles and tissues slowly and gently so that they can release and become relaxed once again.
